Dear Beloved-
In September, I began my 17th year working at this amazing church as the director of music. It is also my 27th year of working for the friars of the Holy Name Province— soon to merge with 5 other provinces to become Our Lady of Guadalupe Province. My life has been forever changed by the friars and I am ever grateful. It is a tremendous blessing to make music in this historic place. Week after week to hear your voices raised in song, led by our incomparable cantors, Nell and Liam, is a gift. Thank you for your constant support of the music ministry here.
I am super excited that my first “From the Staff” falls the weekend we kick off our “Francis Fest.” Please try to join us for as many events as you can. Our Converge Ministry has worked very hard for our Oktoberfest! Sunday, join us for brats and beer and fun!! Tickets are available at the door. Monday evening will be poignant, as together we watch “The Letter.” This documentary inspired by the papal encyclical Laudato Si’ is one of the most spiritually and ecologically significant films I have ever seen. Tuesday we celebrate the Transitus, Francis’s dying and rising to new life. If you have never been, it is not to be missed. Our Francis Fest culminates with our Festive Mass for our Holy Father St. Francis, Wednesday evening at 5:30pm.
