Robert Frost: A Poet of Many Moods and Modes

Robert Frost has been described as a philosopher, nature poet, storyteller, lyricist and social commentator. For the first hour and a half of each meeting, we will discuss Frost’s poetry; in the last half hour students will be invited to write poems based on the evening’s reading.

The last half hour writing component is optional.

Recommended text: The Poetry of Robert Frost.. Holt Rinehart and Winston 1969. Edited by Edward Connery Latham.

Note: we will be reading poems from all parts of Frost’s career so you are welcome to use any complete edition that includes Frost’s last collection, 1962 In the Clearing.
