Veterans Day 2024 is on Monday, November 11th. Masses will follow our regular daily schedule of 7:30am, 12pm, and 5:30pm, with a special blessing for veterans at all Masses that day.
We offer our thanks, appreciation and pray for all those who have served our country in the armed forces, especially those who were injured in the line of duty. May your bravery and courage not go unrewarded!
The Laudato Si Circle is the environmental ministry at the Church of St. Francis of Assisi. Our next in-person meeting will be Thursday, November 21 6:30 – 8:00 PM in the 1st Floor Conference Room of the St. Francis House. All are welcome. You can find more information about the ministry here.
And on Saturday, September 21st, the Laudato Si Circle at the Church of St. Francis of Assisi hosted a second walk along the High Line. It was a beautiful day to be in community and out in nature. At the end of the walk there were two bonuses — a Climate Fair to kick off Climate Week, and The Great Elephant Migration, an art installation to promote awareness and conservation efforts worldwide.

A vigil Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 31st at 5:30 PM. Feast Day Masses will be celebrated Friday, November 1st at 7:30 AM, 12:00 PM and 5:30 PM.
Join us also for the Commemoration of all the Faithful Departed (All Soul’s Day) on Saturday, November 2nd at 11:00 AM. A special liturgy/All Souls Mass of Remembrance will be also celebrated Wednesday, November 13th at 6:30 PM. CLICK HERE for details about this liturgy.

On Saturday evening, November 2, we will celebrating two Masses honoring all NYC Marathon runners and their families. The first will be the regular 4 pm Mass, and the second will be the return of the 5:15 pm evening Mass. After both Masses, all Marathon runners will receive a special blessing for their participation in the 2024 NYC Marathon.

Beginning this September 11, 2024, the Church of St. Francis of Assisi Parish will officially launch the Father Mychal Judge, OFM Building Fund. Father Mychal was the NYC Fire Department chaplain who died along with 342 FDNY firefighters while responding to the 9/11/2001 World Trade Center attack. Father Mychal was Death Certificate Number One in that fateful tragedy.
Father Mychal lived in Franciscan fraternity in our beloved parish for many years. He always loved the Church of St. Francis of Assisi’s architecture and legacy of spirituality. The purpose of this building fund is to defray the expenses of renovation, repair, and replacement within our church, parish house, and school, which houses our adult education program and 12 step programs. All three buildings are aging and need attention, including
